In this project, one of our esteemed clients from the banking sector needed a container-backed microservices delivery platform to support their newly launched retail banking app. At Taashee, our engineers took complete advantage of the Red Hat OpenShift container to help their product achieve new heights in ease of access, security, scalability, automation and hassle-free maintenance.
Our client is one of India’s leading players in the private sector banking space with an expanding footprint across the country. It offers specialized services catering to Corporate & Institutional Banking, Commercial Banking, Branch & Business Banking, Retail Assets and Financial Markets Operations. It currently serves more than 11 million customers through a network of 500+ branches, and 400+ ATMs spread all over India.
The bank recently introduced its retail mobile application, which provides customers services related to opening accounts, transferring funds, paying bills, adding funds to e-wallets, enabling loyalty rewards, etc. in an effort to integrate their digital experience. To deliver new innovations to its more than 11 million customer-base faster, our client adopted a new infrastructure model based on microservices and open banking application programming interfaces (APIs). After reviewing several containerization technologies, the client’s IT team decided to approach Taashee Linux Services for an appropriate solution.
Taashee’s solution architects reviewed the client’s existing setup and suggested to implement Red Hat OpenShift as the new service infrastructure for the app. OpenShift is an enterprise Kubernetes container platform, providing a modular, secure, and automated base for efficiently building microservices and API-based applications. It provides automated installation, upgradation, and life cycle management spanning all parts of the container stack, from the operating system, to the Kubernetes cluster services and applications.
The approach of deploying microservices powered by OpenShift has been a game-changer for our client. They have enhanced the holistic experience for their retail app users with responsive and fast performance and security-assured access to account information and other banking services. Moreover, whenever there is a need to push an update nowadays, the bank’s IT team can utilize OpenShift’s automated pipeline to deliver the upgraded code to app stores within an hour. OpenShift’s autoscaling capabilities, on the other hand, have provided increased availability and stability for the app. 1000+ microservices supported by thousands of APIs can handle more than 11000 requests per second, even during peak traffic.
Lastly, ever since the microservices were deployed through the OpenShift container platform, the bank has been able to carry out lightning-fast maintenance in its production environment without affecting customer-facing services.
Taashee’s technical team helps organizations that require increased developer productivity, higher quality applications, and lower maintenance costs. Taashee programmers specialize in multiple technologies with add-on features and advanced support. The biggest advantage for customers approaching Taashee is that they do not need to approach multiple vendors to implement different technologies.
